What is the TikTok Comments API?

Paste a public TikTok video URL and the TikTok Comments API returns its comments as clean JSON. Each comment includes the text, the author's username and avatar, how many likes it has, and when it was posted. The response also reports totalComments — the video's full comment count. Fetch up to 500 comments per call with the limit parameter, then pass the returned nextCursor value back in to page through the rest — a flat 2 credits per call, no matter how many comments you fetch. Need replies under a specific comment? Pass that comment's id to the TikTok Comment Replies API. Ideal for sentiment analysis, social listening, moderation, and spotting engaged fans. No TikTok login and no proxies or infrastructure to maintain on your side.

Comments

Each item in comments contains:

  • idStable platform ID for the item.
  • textText content.
  • authorAuthor name or handle.
  • authorAvatarUrlProfile picture URL of the person who wrote the comment.
  • likeCountLike count.
  • publishedAtPublish date (ISO 8601).
